  TUCSON, AZ - Breaking open a tight, 1-0, contest at halftime, Pima pulled away in the second half to take a 4-1 victory over Mesa in the Region I men's soccer first round Tuesday.

  The Aztecs had the halftime lead on a goal by Santiago Carillo in the 32nd minute.

  PCC expanded the margin to 2-0 when Alejandro Gonzales scored in the 51st minute.

  Justin Eriksen (Fr., Long Beach, Calif/Wilson H.S.) halved the deficit in the 63rd minute with his second goal of the year, but Arturo Vega and Garrette Andreatta both tallied mid-half to secure the win for Pima.

  Mesa finishes with an 11-10 record while PCC is 15-4-1.
