T-Bird men's golf finish 6th at SM Invite

The T-Bird Men's Golf team shot a final round 296 (+6) to finish 6th at the South Mountain Invite on Wednesday held at Aguila GC. The Thunderbirds shot 302-296-598 (+20) for the event. South Mountain took first place in thr tournament shooting 284-265- 559 (-27).

Freshman Luke Stephens shot even par 72-72-144 and finished 11th for his best finish as a Thunderbird. Sophomore Stratton Deneke shot 74-74-148 (+4) and tied for 21st. Dylan Dean from SMCC won the event at 134 (-12).

"We've got to search deep down and find some momentum with regionals approaching," said head coach John Guerrero.

The men will compete next on April 7-9 at the EAC Classic played at Mount Graham GC in Thatcher, AZ.
