Men’s golf 3rd after round one at PV Invite

The Tbird men shot 291 (+11) and find themselves in 3rd place going into Monday's final round at the PV Invite at Encanto GC. They trail 2nd place Pima by 2 strokes. 

Sophomore Ethan Burbidge who is tied for 3rd place individually fired an even par 70 to lead the T-Birds. Teammate Stratton Deneke shot 72 and is tied for 13th.

"The greens are tough due to some tricky tournament pins and it made it difficult to score. There were only 2 scores under par in the field. We will need to focus on approach shots into the greens better than we did in the first round," said head coach John Guerrero.

South Mountain (279) leads after day 1. Second round play resumes at 11am on Monday.
