MCC Men's Basketball picked up their first home win of the season on Wednesday night as they took down Community Christian College, 90-70.

The Thunderbirds were able to get shots up in bunches in the first half as they took 44 total attempts, connecting on 16 of them. CCC was able to only put up 26 shots in the opening half while making nine shots.

MCC's defense in the first half helped them jump out to a 42-23 first half lead as they forced 14 turnovers and recorded 10 steals in the first 20 minutes. MCC was also able to keep CCC from connecting from deep in the first half as the Saints went 0/11 from behind the arc.

In the second half Mesa shot the ball better as they went 16/34 from the field. MCC's defense was a bit lacking in the final 20 minutes as CCC scored 47 points in the second half on 19/34 shooting from the field.

In the end MCC got their second win of the season and their first home win of the year. The Thunderbirds won't be back in action for a regular season game until Nov. 8 when they open up conference play at home against Eastern Arizona College.
