The men's basketball team fell to No. 20 Scottsdale Saturday afternoon, 84-74 to bring their record to 6-2 (2-9 ACCAC).
The Thunderbirds were able to keep the game close but were unable to pull off the win in the end. Mesa was led in scoring by Timmy Johnson who finished with 21 points and 5 assists. Lual Lula added another double-double to his statsheet this year as he had 5 points and 10 rebounds. Nicholas Riley also captured a double-double as he had 10 rebounds and 12 points.
The Artichokes had four players score double figures all led by Isiah Floyd who added 18 off the bench.
MCC will hit the road this week as they will take on Central Arizona Wednesday and Chandler-Gilbert Saturday.
