The men's basketball team lost their third game in a row Saturday afternoon to Glendale 74-68. The Thunderbirds record is now 5-4 overall, and 1-4 in conference play.
The Thunderbirds had a strong first half as they led at the break 41-35. Glendale was able to get back into the game and take the lead with 15:30 left in the final half. From then on it was a back and forth battle between the teams, in the end Glendale was able to pull away and win their second in a row.
Mesa shot 39.5% from the field while only shooting 14.3% from three-point range. Glendale shot 47.2% from the field while shooting 41.2% behind the arc.
Nicholas Riley led the way for the Thunderbirds in points in rebounds as he posted a double double with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Mesa now will have an extended break before they take the court again against Seward County on Dec. 27.
