Bio

Chenelle Jones, was recently inducted into the Virginia High School Football (Hall of Fame) on January 20, 2018.  As a Huguenot High School student-athlete, Chenelle was named the Richmond Quarterback Club's (1990) Player of The Year. 

He continued his education at Western New Mexico University. There he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership.  During his time at WNMU, Jones was an All-American Defensive Back and National DII Statistical Champion (Interceptions).  Jones has coached twenty years at the college level and two years at the high school level.  Starting his career as the defensive back coach at Dodge City Community College in Kansas, he coached and mentored some of the top defensive backs in the Jayhawk Community College Conference. 

Following his time in Kansas, Jones was asked to serve as the Assistant Head Coach at Arizona Western College in Yuma, AZ. Chenelle coached three seasons at AWC and helped revive a program that was known for its winning tradition. Within a year, the Matadors football program was back to its winning ways and finished ranked 9 th in the final NJCAA football poll (2000). 

In 2003, Jones next destination was Western New Mexico University. He returned to Silver City as the Defensive Coordinator/Asst. Head Coach. There he coached the Mustangs defense to the top of the RMAC (Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) defensive statistical categories. 

In 2007, he was given an opportunity to serve as the Head Football Coach at Safford High School. He joined the Bulldogs in fall of 2007, where he finished his second season with a 7-3 record, ranked 8th in the state. 

The next stop was Eastern Arizona College, another opportunity to build a winning program. During his stint at EAC, Jones recruited and coached some of the top football players in the country. While at EAC, he coached in the Salt City Bowl and The Top of the Mountain Bowl. 

Currently, Coach Jones is our Recruiting Coordinator / Defensive Coordinator and he has continued to recruit, develop, and mentor some of the top student-athletes in the Western States Football League.
