Mesa upends Eastern Arizona football, 13-12

Thatcher, AZ- Mesa hasn't had the type of season they were hoping for and many teams in their situation would have rolled over and given up.  But the T-Birds showed that though this season doesn't look good record wise, they're still going to play their butts off till the final whistle blows.

That's exactly what they did as they defeated the Gila Monsters in front of their home crowd, 13-12.

Mesa opened up the game on their first drive, going 22 plays and finishing off with a Brennen Dobson five yard touchdown pass to Joshua Aganon for their first lead of the game.

The Gila Monsters did score twice in the game but failed on both their conversion attempts.  The first was a PAT attempt that failed and a two point conversion which they came up short on.

Austin Carver connected on two field goals to give Mesa the eventual 13-12 victory.  

With Mesa playing in the bottom half of the playoff picture, they will play at Scottsdale next week, Nov. 7th.  The Artichokes defeated the Glendale Gauchos 34-13 earlier in the day.  The T-Birds lost just one week ago to the Artichokes at Mesa, 27-20.
