Mesa Baseball took two conference games over Phoenix College this past weekend.
Game One:
All cylinders were clicking for the T-Birds in their conference opener. Mesa's offense got to work early, scoring five runs in the first and four in the third as they built up a nine run lead.
Ty Johnson was lights out on the mound as he threw a no-hitter in the five inning contest (due to run rule) striking out seven batters and walking just one.
MCC would pick up the 10-0 win in five innings.
Game Two:
The T-Birds jumped out on the Bears early again in their Saturday matchup scoring five more runs in the opening frame. Neither team would score again until the fifth when both teams would run two across.
The Bears would score six runs between the fifth and seventh inning to tie the game at six, a score that would stick all the way until the tenth inning.
In the T-Birds top of the tenth inning Nicholas Masciangelo would score what would be the winning run giving Mesa the 7-6 victory over the Bears.
The T-Birds will be back in action on Tuesday as they host Glendale in conference action, first pitch at 3 p.m.
