Mesa Baseball has Four Players earn All-Region Honors

The Mesa Thunderbirds baseball team had four players earn NJCAA Region I, Div. II team honors for the 2023 season.

Middle infielder Josh Degroot and outfielder Thomas Schreffler were named first-team All-Region. Schreffler also earned the Golden Glove Award.

On 153 at-bats, Degroot had 55 hits, 25 runs, 15 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases with a .359 batting average.

Schreffler had 46 hits, 27 runs, 19 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases on 139 at-bats with a batting average of .331.

Pitcher Luke Brocco and outfielder Bret Housel were named second-team All-Region.

In 63.1 innings pitched, Brocco allowed just 67 hits and 41 runs. He also had 38 strikeouts and went 2-4 as the starting pitcher.

On 127 at-bats, Housel had 44 hits, 27 runs, 25 RBIs, and five stolen bases with a .346 batting average.
