MCC baseball falls to Glendale on Friday

MCC baseball were not able to snap their losing streak to Glendale on friday afternoon as they fell to the gauchos, 11-2. With the loss the Thunderbirds have lost 11 straight games and their overall record falls to 15-26 (3-23 ACCAC).

Glendale got on the board in the opening inning as a sacrifice fly gave them the 1-0 advantage. The Gauchos would add two more in the third inning, one run scored on an infield error and the other off an RBI single to right.

The T-Birds would try to answer back in the 5th as Marshall Williams hit an RBI single that never left the infield as WIlliams was able to beat out the throw to first.

GCC would tack on three more in the 7th, but MCC's Johs Degroot would drive in one run to keep it to a 6-2 ball game.

In the 9th inning the Gauchos would explode for five runs all before the Thunderbird defense was able to record an out. MCC was unable to answer with any runs in their home half of the 9th inning as they fell to Glendale for the third time this season.

The two teams will meet for the last time this season on Saturday as MCC will travel to Glendale, first pitch will be at 12:00 p.m.
