Mesa, AZ - The Thunderbirds baseball team spilt a two-game series versus the Gateway Geckos.
Each team hosted a game with the visiting team winning in both instances.
On Friday, Mesa edged out Gateway, 4-3. Josh Degroot had two hits and two runs in three at-bats and also had two stolen bases. Luke Brocco earned the win as the starting pitcher and only allowed four hits and one run in 5.1 innings. Brocco also had seven strikeouts.
On Saturday, Mesa couldn't generate much offense as they fell to Gateway, 6-1.
The T-Birds (12-7 overall, 2-6 ACCAC) will play the Scottsdale Fighting Artichokes at home on Tuesday and at SCC on Wednesday. Both games are scheduled to start at 3:00 PM.
