Bio
Quin Fredette is beginning her first year as an Assistant Coach for Mesa Community College's Cross Country team, bringing both competitive experience and coaching expertise. Originally from San Tan Valley, AZ, Quin developed her love for running at Poston Butte High School, where she competed in both cross country and track.
After high school, Quin continued her athletic career at Mesa Community College on an athletic scholarship, where she had a standout career. During her time at MCC, she earned several honors, including being named a Cross Country All-American her sophomore year during the 2018 season. She also earned three All-American awards at the 2019 NJCAA Indoor National Championship, finishing as runner-up in the mile and placing 5th in both the 1k and distance medley relay. She also finished 3rd in the 1500 at the outdoor national championship. Quin still holds the school record in the 1k (2:57.16), indoor mile (5:05.50), and indoor 5k (17:53.71). She was also well known for her barefoot running, competing in every race—both cross country and track—without shoes, which became a trademark of her running style.
Quin's success at MCC led her to Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, where she competed at the NCAA Division I level on scholarship. At A&M-Corpus Christi, she earned the 2019 Women's Cross Country Newcomer of the Year award and was a key member of the team that claimed the 2021 Southland Conference Cross Country Championship title. Quin also anchored the distance medley relay to a school-record time at the 2022 Indoor Conference Championship and was a 2x Southland Conference Cross Country All-Conference Second Team. She capped off her career by individually winning the 2022 Southland Conference 10k Championship title.
After graduating in 2023, Quin returned home to Arizona and began coaching at Gilbert High School, where she served as the Women's Head Cross Country Coach and Assistant Track Coach. She is also dedicated to her own training, with her sights set on qualifying for the Olympic Trials in the marathon. She continues to push her limits as an athlete, balancing coaching and training.
Quin is married to Mitch Fredette and still resides in her hometown, San Tan Valley, with their Rottweiler, Rambo, and Dalmatian puppy, Pongo.
