Chris Laursen

Chris Laursen

Chris Laursen was a standout football player during the heyday of MCC football.

He was named ACCAC Football All-Conference Player for 1975 and 1976. He would also gain NJCAA All-American honors in 1976. Selected as both team captain and team MVP, he helped lead the team to success in the 1975 and 76 conference championships and was a member of the 1975 NJCAA National Championship team. Honors continued in 1976 when Chris was named the NJCAA defensive player of the year. This outstanding player and leader went to Iowa State on a football scholarship. Chris Laursen has been called ?one of the best defensive players ever to play in the NJCAA.? MCC’s former Head Football Coach, Dan Dunn, echoed that fact, stating "Chris is one of the best football players I’ve ever coached."

Chris remains committed to athletics, serving on Central Arizona College’s booster club with a strong commitment to the women’s basketball program.
