MCC Volleyball will take the court on Wednesday night as they host ACCAC foe, Pima Community College.
The Lady T-Birds come into play on Wednesday with a 10-12 overall record, and a 6-6 conference mark. MCC is 1-4 in their last five games with their lone win coming against Central Arizona College (3-0).
The Aztecs come in with a 9-15 overall record and a 5-7 conference mark. Pima is also 1-4 in their last five matches with their lone win coming against the winless Phoenix College Bears (3-0).
MCC and PCC have met twice this season both times the Lady T-Birds came away with the win (3-0, 3-1).
All games remaining in the season will be extremely important for MCC as the race to the postseason gets tighter and tighter. With six conference wins Mesa holds the fourth and final postseason spot but Pima and South Mountain are hot on the heels of the Lady T-Birds with five conference wins each.
MCC also has a chance to catch Glendale CC who currently holds the third seed with seven conference wins. Mesa will travel to take on SMCC on Friday and will host Glendale CC next week. Both matches could decide if the Lady T-Birds will improve their playoff seeding or if Mesa won't make the cut to the postseason.
In lieu of charging to enter all home volleyball matches, the Athletic Department will be accepting non-perishable food donations at the entrance to support the MCC Mesa Market so come out enjoy some great volleyball and help a good cause!
