Mesa, Ariz. - The Thunderbirds volleyball fell to the #4 nationally ranked Scottsdale Fighting Artichokes Wednesday night, 3-0.
It was as tough a match as expected when facing up against one of the top teams in the NJCAA Div. II, as the Artichokes remain unbeaten this season with a 13-0 record.
In the first set, the T-Birds kept it competitive with Artichokes, but Scottsdale but able to pull away for a 25-18 win.
The second set was nowhere near as competitive, as Scottsdale cruised to a 25-10 win.
The T-Birds tried to stay alive with a valiant effort in the third set, but Scottsdale proved to be too much as they won 25-18 to conclude the match.
Mesa (4-9 Overall, 4-7 ACCAC) will go up against Park-Gilbert from the NAIA in a non-conference matchup on Friday at home.
