Mesa, Ariz. - The Mesa Thunderbirds volleyball were unable to overcome the #14 Glendale Gauchos in their home opener Wednesday night, falling 3-0.
The T-Birds kept it close with the Gauchos in the first set, as it was a back and forth battle with Glendale winning 25-22.
The second set didn't go the T-Birds' way as they lost 25-14. In the third set, the T-Birds tried fighting back but ultimately fell 25-17.
Up next for the T-Birds, they visit Scottsdale on Wednesday, Sept. 7 at 7:00 pm. The next home match will be in two weeks against Pima on the 14th at 7:00 pm as well.
