Mesa Wins Set One But Can't Maintain Control, Fall to Scottsdale in Four Sets

Scottsdale, AZ - The T-Birds jumped out to an impressive 25-21 set one victory in the opening round of the Region I - DII tournament Thursday night against the Scottsdale Artichokes.  Mesa however just couldn't control the Artichokes during the final three sets, falling 19-25, 20-25, 16-25.

The T-Birds will now play in the 11 am elimination match Friday morning against the Pima Aztecs, who lost to the Glendale Gauchos in the 4 pm match Thursday.  If Mesa wins the 11 am match, they will play the winner of the Scottsdale-Glendale match in the last match of the night at 7 pm.  If Mesa loses vs Pima, the T-Birds will be eliminated.

Game 5: Winner game 3 vs. Loser game 4 Friday, Nov. 8, 7:00pm

Game 6: Winner game 4 vs. Winner game 5 Saturday, Nov. 9, 4:00 pm

Game 7: (If necessary) Saturday, Nov. 9, 7:00pm
