Mesa Track & Field sets new marks at Mesa Invitational

Mesa Track & Field completed their regular season on Friday as they competed in the Mesa Invitational.

Women:

Reanna Campbell smashed her own 400m school record on Friday as she finished the event in 55.77 improving on the mark she set just last week of 56.19.

Anna Harmon qualified for nationals and set a new PR in the 800m finishing the event in 2:16.67. Kendra Guest set a PR in the event as she finished in 2:23.94.

SeiOriana Glass set a new PR and qualified for nationals in the hammer throw with a toss of 44.31m.

Odelia Lemons (12.11), Zamirah Parker (12.46), and Valerie Woo (13.19) each set PR's in the 100m dash.  Katherine Lemish (14.08) and Valerie Woo (15.19) set new personal marks in the 100m hurdles. 

Odelia Lemons (24.92) and Taylor Jacobs (25.84) each set a new PR in the 200m. Deshay Turner (56.69) and Lucille Lovelace (1:03.94) each set PR's in the 400m.

Elizabeth Wead (1:04.20) set a PR in the 400m hurdles while Carmella Baldwin set a new PR in the 1500m finishing in 4:58.68.

Valerie Woo set a PR in the high jump (1.53m) while Lucille Lovelace set a new best in the javelin throw (28.61m). Maleah Tucker set a new PR in the shot put as she would earn a toss of 12.36m.

Men:

Jalen Bradford booked his ticket to nationals as he qualified for the 200m finishing with a time of 21.23. Kai Pfister qualified for nationals in the 400m hurdles, finishing in 53.75.

Four T-Birds set a PR in the 100m event as Jalen Bradford (10.66), Tylyn Cook (10.91), Niklas Hauck (11.18), & Jackson Anway (11.52) all hit new marks. 

Ricardo Torres continues to rise as he set a PR in the 110m hurdles (14.82) and the 200m (22.50). Chrishawn Shropshire also set a new mark for himself in the 200m as he finished in 23.13.

Samuel Green came close to breaking Mesa's oldest standing record in the 800m as he set another PR in the event, finishing in 1:50.75. Jorge Trujillo (1:56.16) and Mario Correa-Ruiz (2:02.16) also set new marks in the event.

Green (15:45.55) and Steven Saurini (16:51.82) each set new personal bests in the 5000m while Myles Larsen (31.49m) set a new mark for himself in the discus throw. 

Mesa will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday as they compete in the NJCAA Region I Multis, hosted at Mesa Community College.
