Women's Track & Field capture ACCAC Championship

No. 1 MCC Women's Track & Field competed in the ACCAC Championships hosted by Paradise Valley Community College on Friday.

The Lady T-Birds took home the ACCAC Championship on Friday after going 5-0 in head-to-head competition. Mesa defeated:

Pima Community College - 110-75

Central Arizona College - 96-90

Glendale Community College - 119-46

Paradise Valley Community College - 125-20

Phoenix College - 129-11

Mesa had a number of conference championships in individual and relay events throughout the day.

Sarah Nipper was the conference champion in the pole vault event as her final 3.6m vault was enough to capture the honor. Anna Harmon was conference champion in the 5000m even as she finished in 18:36.10.

Katherine Lemish finished the 100m hurdles in 14.43 earning her conference champion honors in the event. Maleah Tucker won the conference championship for the hammer throw event as her 46.42m toss was enough to capture the crown.

Reanna Campbell and Taylor Jacobs each earned conference champion honors as Jacobs won the 800m event (1:07.48) while Campbell won the 400m (56.36).

Maliyah Ross was the long jump conference champion as her 5.75m mark won the event. Odelia Lemons earned the conference title in the 100m event as she finished in 12.15.

In the 4x400m relay Deshay Turner, Reanna Campbell, Diane Ondobo and Taylor Jacobs won the conference title as they finished in 3:48.08. In the 4x100m relay the T-Birds also took home the conference crown as Katherine Lemish, Odelia Lemons, Zamirah Parker, and Deshay Turner finished in 46.83.

Mesa will be back in action on April 11 as they hit the road to Azusa, CA to compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational.
