Women's DMR Finishes Second on Day One of Indoor Nationals

Topeka, KS - The Thunderbirds women's track & field distance medley relay team finished second on day one of the 2023 NJCAA Indoor Championships.

The DMR (Kate Brockman, Diane Ondobo, Taylor Jacobs, and Anna Harmon) earned runner-up honors after a close battle with South Plains (TX) and demolished the school record with a time of 12:12.32. The previous record (12:25.35) was held since 2019.

Jacobs doubled back to qualify for the 600m final with a 1:35.91 effort in the prelims.

Brockman qualified for both the 800m and 1000m finals, including running a personal-best time of 3:02.04 in the 1000m prelims.

Harmon also ran a PB in the 1000m prelims (3:03.15) to qualify for the final as well.

Maliyah Ross finished in 14th place in the pentathlon. In the 5000m final, Lucy Lines was 16th (19:57.44).

In the 400m prelims, Zaria Hamilton was 16th (58.51). In the 60m hurdles prelims, Katherine Lemish was 16th (9.11) and Lilyanna Martinez was 18th (9.63). In the 60m prelims, Zana Ryan was 24th (7.81).

Day two of Indoor Nationals will wrap up on Saturday.
