The Mesa Community College Women's Tennis team captured the 2024 Region I title after their 9-0 victory over Paradise Valley on Thursday.

With the win Mesa improved their record to 6-5 overall and finished their conference schedule perfect as they went 6-0. The Lady T-Birds were an astounding 53-1 in total matches against ACCAC foes this season.

This is the first Region I title for MCC since the 2019 season and the first for the ladies under head coach Feroz Rast.

Rast after the match was overjoyed with the performance of his team not only on Thursday but throughout the season.

"Very proud of this team and the way we came out today. Playing a team that is missing some of their players can be tricky but we focused on us and what we can control," said Rast, "everyone dominated and played a winning style of tennis. The ladies finished the perfect conference season with going 53-1 in total matches, that is amazing."

Mesa will now turn their attention to their match against Arizona Christian University on April 20 before they prepare for the NJCAA National Tournament on May 4-8 held in Tyler, TX.
