Women's soccer falls to Paradise Valley, 6-2

Allowing two early goals in the first half seemed to take the steam out of the Mesa women's soccer team in a 6-2 loss to Paradise Valley Friday at John D. Riggs Stadium.

The non-conference loss dropped MCC to 0-3 on the year while PVCC improved to 2-0. The T-Birds get right back to action Saturday, visiting Chandler-Gilbert for an 8:00 p.m. contest.

The Pumas tallied twice in the first 11 minutes and built a 4-0 lead before Mesa got on the board for the first time this year. That is when Shay Webster scored on an assist from Jasmin Zamudio in the 41st minute.

Mesa didn't score again until the 73rd minute when Rylee Rottweiler hit the back of the net for her first goal of the year unassisted.
