Women's Golf in 8th place going into round two of Southwest District Championship

MCC Women's Golf competed in round one of the NJCAA Southwest District Championship on Monday.

It was not the typical Mesa start that we are accustomed to seeing from the Lady T-Birds as they shot 344 in round one and sit in 8th place going into round two. McLennan Community College (305) is in first place followed by Odessa College (306).

Individually Alyzzah Vakasiuola sits in 5th place after shooting a 76 on the day, Addison King is tied for 11th after shooting 78.

"We did not have the start we wanted," said head coach John Guerrero after the round, "we will make adjustments and play better tomorrow. We have no choice."

Mesa plays with Chandler-Gilbert and Murray State in round two, starting at 9:40 a.m.
