(#6) Mesa women's golf wins 13th consecutive event

  Buckeye, AZ – It was yet another win for the sixth-ranked Mesa women's golf team and individually for Alyzzah Vakasiula as the T-Birds captured the Estrella Mountain Invitational by 54 shots.

  MCC recorded a 323-312—635 over the Sundance G.C. course Sunday and Monday to win their 13^th consecutive ACCAC regular season tournament. Pima was second at 350-339—689 with South Mountain third at 362-344—706.

  For Vakasioula it was her 12^th straight regular season win as she fired a 76-72—148 to claim medal honors over teammate Jolie Guyette who posted 79-77—156, easily her best tournament of the year.

  Abby Schmidt carded an 85-80—165 to take sixth place. Viviana Holguin was tied for seventh at 83-83—166.

  Mesa's next outing is the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational Saturday and Sunday, April 2-3 at the Las Colinas G.C. in Queen Creek, AZ.
