Women's golf captures South Mountain Invitational
Mesa won its second women's golf event of the year, capturing the South Mountain Invitational Sunday.
The T-Birds recorded a 334-342—676 on a windy Aguila G.C. course. Paradise Valley was second at 384-381—765 and visiting North Central Missouri was third, posting a 420-399—819.
MCC's Alyzzah Vakasioula won her second straight event, carding a 71-76—147. Chandler-Gilbert's Sophie Coleman, playing as an independent, placed second at 82-83—165, while the T-Birds took the next two places with Abby Schmidt third posting an 84-84—168 and Presley Pickron fourth with an 87-87—174.
The Mesa women will play March 8-9 at the Scottsdale Invitational which will be competed over the Hillcrest G.C. in Sun City, AZ.
