Kapanicas, Fusak lead women's golf to 27-shot lead at Estrella Mountain Invitational

  Goodyear, AZ – Haley Kapanicas and Megan Fusak were second and third respectively after the first round of the Estrella Mountain Invitational Monday, helping the Mesa women's golf team to a 27-shot lead. The event is being held at Tres Rios G.C.

  Kapanicas fired an 83 and Fusak had an 84 as MCC recorded a team total of 349, 27 shots clear of Chandler-Gilbert. Paradise Valley was third at 422.

  Mesa's Madison Tjaden and Cheyanne Stewart were tied for eighth place with 91s.

  The tournament is set to conclude Tuesday, weather permitting.
