Anderson, Boston, and Shivers Earn ACCAC/Region I Postseason Awards

The Thunderbirds women's basketball team had three players earn ACCAC/Region I postseason awards.

Sophomore guard Mykah Anderson was named both the ACCAC Div. II Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Anderson also earned All-ACCAC second team and All-Region I, Div. II first-team honors for the second year in a row.

Anderson is the sixth lady T-Bird to earn POTY honors and the first to earn DPOTY honors in the history of the MCC women's basketball program.

Nia Boston was named All-ACCAC second team and All-Region I, Div. II first team. Mackenzie Shivers was named All-ACCAC third team and All-Region I, Div. II third team.

The lady T-Birds will play Scottsdale at home on Wednesday, March 8th at 7:00 PM in a semifinal matchup of the 2023 NJCAA Region I, Div. II Women's Basketball Tournament. The winner will advance to the championship game on Saturday, March 11th.
