Prescott, AZ - The No. 6 ranked Mesa Thunderbirds women's basketball team were able to edge out the Yavapai Roughriders, 52-45, Wednesday night.
AnnMarie Batista hit a buzzer-beater three-pointer at the end of the first quarter to give the Lady T-Birds an 11-9 lead.
Batista was able to hit another late three-point shot at the end of the second quarter to cut the deficit to one point at halftime, 24-23.
After being down by three at the end of the third quarter, Mesa put in a strong fourth quarter to get the victory.
MCC (12-3 overall, 7-1 ACCAC) will play at Phoenix College on Saturday before being back home next week.
