Tucson, AZ – The Mesa women's basketball team had its five-game winning streak ended by Howard (Md.), 62-59 at the Bruce Fleck Classic played a Pima.
The T-Birds led, 50-45, heading into the fourth quarter, but were out-scored, 17-9 in the final period. Mesa was 4-6 from the free throw line while the Dragons were 14-19.
MCC was led by Mackenzie Shivers with 13 points. Mykah Anderson added 12 and AnneMarie Batista had 10. Anderson contributed nine assists.
Mesa, now 8-2 on the season, plays Bismarck (N.D.) State Friday at 4 p.m. in the tournament.
