The women's basketball team improved their season record to 2-0 Thursday night as they defeated Utah State Eastern, 65-57.

The game was a back and forth battle most of the night as the Thunderbirds were able to pull away late for the victory. Mesa had a seven point lead late in the game but the Eagles were able to hit timely shots to cut the lead as close as two.

That is as close as the game would get the rest of the way as the T-Birds came out of a time out and quickly hit shots to put the game on ice.

This is the first of three straight games for MCC as they will take on Bella Vista tomorrow and Morton College Saturday, both contests will be at home.

The game against Bella Vista will tip-off at 3:30pm tomorrow.
