Mesa, AZ - The Mesa Thunderbirds women's basketball team won a big conference game Wednesday afternoon as they defeated the Scottsdale Artichokes, 88-52. With the win, Mesa remains in the #1 spot in the ACCAC DII standings with two games to play in the regular season.
Hot shooting propelled Mesa from the get go as they connected on seven three-pointers in the first half, six alone in the first quarter. That cushion was all Mesa needed as they cruised to a 36 point victory.
Scoring a game high 21 points was Zyan Smith while Jacey Salabiye scored 18 points and Myka Taliman scored 14 points.
The T-Birds final regular season home game will be this Saturday when they face the Chandler-Gilbert Coyotes at 2 pm with their final game of the regular season next Tuesday at South Mountain, also a 2 pm start.
