Mesa athletics remembers Kobe Bryant

Mesa, AZ – Mesa Athletics is remembering the recent tragic and untimely passing of nine individuals who were members of the worldwide basketball family. On Sunday, January 25, 2020 these individuals lost their lives in a terrible helicopter accident in Calabasas, CA. On board were the following people:

• Alyssa Altobelli – 13 years old (and her parents)
• John Altobelli
• Keri Altobelli
• Christina Mauser – assistant basketball coach for Team Mamba
• Payton Chester – 13 years old (and her mother)
• Sarah Chester
• Ara Zobayan (helicopter pilot)
• Gianna Bryant – 13 years old (and her father)
• NBA superstar Kobe Bryant

Reflecting one of the numbers worn by Kobe Bryant during his 20 year career with the Los Angeles Lakers there will be a 24 second moment of silence prior to the night's national anthem. We send prayers and thoughts of support to all the families and others affected by this tragic loss of life.
