Women's Basketball Beat Chandler-Gilbert, 65-47

Mesa, AZ- Mesa has a chance to have home court advantage in the upcoming ACCAC DII playoffs but winning the rest of their games is key.  The T-Birds took a step closer to that home court advantage with a victory of Chandler-Gilbert Wednesday night, 65-47.

Mesa was lead by Rebecca Rudd, who finished with 14 points, five rebounds and three assists.

The T-Birds started off hot from the field, connecting on their first three pointers of the game by Briana Clah and Janessa Aukward but the Coyotes themselves had shots fall and made things interesting through one quarter.

An Allies Fuller layup and Rebecca Rudd jumpshot midway through the 2nd quarter pushed the Mesa up to as much as 16, 33-17.  The Coyotes however finished the last five minutes on a 9-2 run to cut the Mesa lead at 35-26.

A strong third quarter helped Mesa push ahead by as much as 19 and Mesa stayed around that lead for the rest of the game.

Sham Troupe finished with double-double, scoring 14 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.  Natalie Stilwell also finished with a double-double, scoring 12 points with 16 rebounds.

The T-Birds are now 10-10 in the conference and 13-15 overall.  They will head to Thatcher this Saturday for an afternoon matchup against the Gila Monsters then at Tohono O'Oohdam on Tuesday to finish the regular season.
