Midland, TX- The Thunderbirds dropped their first game of the WNIT in Midland, TX to Midland College Thursday night, 61-47.
Mesa started off slow in the first quarter but exploded in the second quarter to take a six point halftime lead, 31-25.
But a two point third quarter doomed the T-Birds as the Chaparrals went on to score a dozen in the quarter and the deficit was just too much after that for Mesa.
The T-Birds will play again this afternoon against McClelland Community College at Midland College at 2 p.m.
