T-Bird Track & Field Qualifies Three More for Nationals

Mesa, AZ – The Mesa track and field teams added three new national qualifiers, and had four athletes improve the marks they had already set, in the final tune-up for the NJCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Champions at the Mesa Last Chance Saturday at John D. Riggs Stadium.  

For the men, Zach Harrah added his name to the list at 1000 meters with a 2:33.95 showing. The men's 4x400 meter relay team of Carter Dumas, Adrian King, Marcus Mannie and Ryan Talbot also picked up a trip to nationals with a 3:21.33 clocking.  

In addition, Kasey Burlingham improved his mark in the pole vault to 16-10 ¾, King moved up to 23-7 ½ in the long jump and Cameron Lewis raised his weight throw performance to 54-1 ¾.  

On the women's side, Samantha Miller added a third event to her list for nationals, qualifying in the 800 meters at 2:25.40.  Onnika Scott improved to 41-1 ½.

championship meet which will be held March 3-4 in Pittsburg, Kan.
