Men Place 11th, Women 12th at NJCAA Indoor National Championships

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Mesa men placed 11th and the women 12th at the NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships held at JDL Fast Track Friday and Saturday.  

The men scored a total of 29 points and the women had 16.  

For the men, MCC did very well in the pole vault, as it almost always does, with Leonard Bellgardt, IV, taking second place with a jump of 15-9 and Trenton Slater placing third at 15-5.  

In addition, Adrian King was fourth in the long jump with a leap of 7.28 meters and D'Angelo Foster was third in the heptathlon with a total of 4765 points.  

On the women's side, Calla Reed was third in the pole vault with a jump of 11-5 ¾. Allyson Girard placed seventh in the 3,000 at 10:35.94 and Gabby Ybarra was eighth in the 5000 with a time of 10:02.87.  

The Distance Medley relay of Adeline Montgomery, Teleya Bailey, Samantha Miller and Girard took fifth place with a 12:38.72 clocking and the 4x800 relay of Hilary Ogutu, Girard, Miller and Montgomery was sixth in 9:58.42.
