Three improve national standing at T-Bird Invitational track and field

  MESA, AZ - As time winds down toward the NJCAA Division I Track and Field Championships, three Mesa athletes improved their standing on the national lists in qualification for nationals at the T-Bird Invitational Saturday.

  Beatriz Martinez (So., Chandler, AZ/Chandler H.S.) improved her mark in the 1500 meters to rank 17th with a time of 4:54.75.

  Ciara Daniel (So., Show Low, AZ/Show Low H.S.) tossed the javelin 121-5 and is now tenth on the performance list nationally.

  Josh Hamberlin joined the list at No. 11 in the hammer with a throw of 158-6.

  MCC will be hosting the Region I championships, beginning with the multi-events Monday and Tuesday. The full title meet will take place May 5th and 7th. All will be held at John D. Riggs Stadium.
