Softball NJCAA Region I playoff preview: Mesa Community College vs. Phoenix College

The MCC softball team will play in the NJCAA Region I tournament tomorrow against Phoenix College at 1:00 p.m. at South Mountain Community College.

The No.3 seed Lady Thunderbirds will take on the No. 2 seeded Phoenix College Bears. 

In the four games the teams played this season Phoenix College went 4-0, outsourcing MCC 53-16. PC has scored double digit runs in every game against MCC including an 18-0 shutout in their last meeting April 18. In the last meeting five different Bears went yard.

MCC comes into the tournament winning three of their last 10 games as they finished their season with a 26-28 overall record (20-28 ACCAC).

PC comes in winners of eight of their last 10 games as they finished their season 48-10 with a 39-9 conference mark. 

PC comes into the tournament as the No. 2 seed behind South Mountain but are the back to back defending national champions.

The winner of this game will go on to play the winner of the South Mountain and Chandler-Gilbert game while the loser will play the loser of CGCC vs. PC.
