Softball takes one of two from the Artichokes

Mesa, AZ- Both games finished with a 7-1 finish, with Mesa taking game two of the set.

After giving up 12 hits to the Scottsdale Artichokes in game one, Mesa's Braylee Coplan-Kay(So., Taylor, AZ, Snowflake H.S.) came out in game two and threw a complete game two hitter.

Mesa hammered out eight hits, four in the six run fifth inning that blew the door wide open for the Thunderbirds.

Another double by Mariah Gonzales(So., Gilbert, AZ, Highland H.S.) drove in Gallegos to make it 4-0.

The Artichokes brought in a new pitcher and walked Brittney Ramos(Fr., Yuma, AZ, Kofa H.S.) on four straight pitches.  Kayla Bradford(Fr., St. David, AZ, St. David H.S.) then tripled in the two T-Birds on base to extend their lead to 6-0.

Then Meggan Horn(So., Flagstaff, AZ, Coconino H.S.) added to the fun by lining a single right up the middle to score Bradford, to put Mesa ahead 7-0.

This rally all came with two outs in the inning.
