Men's XC Moves up to No. 3 in National Coaches Poll

New Orleans, La. - The Mesa Thunderbirds men's cross country team has moved up four spots to No. 3 overall in the week 2 edition of the NJCAA Men's XC Div. II National Coaches Poll.

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the rankings on Wednesday afternoon.

The T-Birds are coming off a dominant victory at their home meet, the Mesa College Jamboree, as they beat another top-five nationally ranked team in Paradise Valley by a score of 34-54.

Mesa earned two out of the 11 first-place votes to claim the #3 ranking. Lansing CC (MI) remains first overall, earning five first-place votes. With Heartland CC (IL) in second (four FPVs), Cowley (KS) third, and Paradise Valley in fifth.

The T-Birds will head out to San Diego, CA, tomorrow to compete in the Manny Bautista Invite on Friday morning.
