Men's golf has best finish of year, second place at Estrella Mountain Inv.
Goodyear, AZ – Led by Warner Beach who fired a two-under-par 36-hole total 70-70--140, the Mesa men's golf team had its best tournament showing of the year Saturday and Sunday, placing second at the Estrella Mountain Invitational.
The T-Birds shot a 281-295—576 to finish behind South Mountain which carded a 278-276—554 over the Tres Rios G.C. Pima was third at 296-293—589.
Beach's 140 placed him fourth, three shots behind medalist Sean Markham, of South Mountain, who had a 71-66-137 total.
For MCC, Tyler Gerace posted a 66-77—143 to tie for ninth place. Jacob Trevino tied for 11th at 71-74—145.
Mesa will next play in the Paradise Valley Invitational April 18-19 at the Hillcrest G.G. in Sun City West, AZ.
