Trachsel's 70 leads men's golf on first day at Chandler-Gilbert Invitational

Apache Junction, AZ -  James Trachsel fired a one-under-par 70 on the first day of the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational Friday. Trachsel is currently tied for fifth place.

The Mesa men's golf team trails by ten shots and is tied fourth place after round one.

  South Mountain has the lead at four-under 280. Pima is second at +2 286, followed by Paradise Valley, three-over at 287 and MCC at six-over 290, tied with host CGCC.

  The tournament is being held at the Apache Creek G.C. and concludes Saturday.
