Men's golf opens 2021-22 season with second place finish at Gaucho Fall Shootout
Caden Rice came within one shot of winning his first collegiate tournament, leading the Mesa men's golf team to a second place finish at the Gaucho Fall Shootout.
Rice shot a 73-67—140, finishing in a three-way tie for second place, just one stroke behind South Mountain's Jake Carlson at 70-69—139. MCC recorded a team total of 292-283—575 to place behind SMCC.
MCC's Warner Beach took fourth place individually with a 73-69—142, while Jacob Trevino was tied for 15th place, carding a 71-74—175.
The T-Birds play again Oct. 2-3 at the Fall Desert Duel at the Dobson Ranch G.C. in Mesa.
