Rough day drops men's golf to third at regional
Gold Canyon, AZ – A rough day at the Gold Canyon G.C. Sidewinder Course dropped the Mesa men's golf team to third place at the Region I championships.
MCC shot a 302 to go with its first round 283 for a 585 total. South Mountain stretched its lead to seven shots at 281-278—559. Glendale is second with a 283-283—566.
Dylan Middlemiss is MCC's individual leader with a 74-73—147 for tenth place. Warner Beach is one shot further back in 11th place at 68-80—148, while Bosse Lenssen is in 13th place with a 68-81—149.
Jacob Trevino (78-72—150) and Tyler Trachsel (73-77—150) are tied for 14th place.
Play continues Saturday and Sunday.
