Men's golf tied for second after Region I first round
Gold Canyon, AZ - A tightly-bunched field highlighted the Region I, Division II, men's golf championship first round Thursday at the Gold Canyon G.C. Sidewinder course.
Three shots separated three teams with Mesa tied for second placed with a 283. South Mountain leads at 280, MCC and Glendale are tied for second place. Paradise Valley is eliminated when two players withdrew.
The T-Birds have two players tied for second place individually with two-under-par 68s. Warner Beach and Bosse Lenssen both started strong.
Tyler Trachsel is tied for ninth place at 73 and Dylan Middlemiss is tied for 12th having carded a 74.
The four-round event continues the Sunday.
