Gonzales and Lual earn Men's Basketball postseason honors

The ACCAC announced their 2023-24 Men's Basketball postseason awards on Thursday morning and two Thunderbirds made the cut.

Orlando Gonzales (All-ACCAC DII 2nd Team)

Gonzales has had a breakout sophomore season for Mesa averaging a team high 17.3 PPG on 42.8% shooting from the floor form distance.

Gonzales joined the 500 point club and nearly hit the 600 point mark as he finished his time as a T-Bird with 590 points. 

Gonzales ended his season on a heater as in his final five games played he averaged 22.2 PPG including back-to-back 30 point performances in his last two games.

Gonzales tried everything he could to will his team to victory in multiple games including a 29 point performance against top 15 ranked CGCC where he went 8-10 from deep.

Lual Lual (All-ACCAC DII 2nd Team / All-Region DII 2nd Team)

Lual averaged 14 PPG and 8.9 RPG in his 28 games played. Lual also joined the 500 point club during the year and ended his career with 624 points as a Thunderbirds. 

Lual scored in double figures in 22 of 28 games played including a career high 31 points in a 92-89 loss to Yavapai College.
