Tuesday December 5, 2023 - 9:57 p.m. | Dylan DeVlieger

The MCC Men's Basketball team hits the road Wednesday for their first conference game away from Theo Heap Gymnasium as they visit the Glendale Gauchos.

MCC comes in with a 2-3 overall record (0-1 ACCAC). The Thunderbirds have lost two of their last three including a 94-63 loss in their conference opener against Eastern Arizona College last Tuesday.

Glendale enters play Wednesday night with a 3-4 overall record (0-2 ACCAC). Winners of two of their last five, the Gauchos are averaging 85.9 points per game, 5th best in the conference.

Both teams have played a common opponent in Dallas College Eastfield. MCC and GCC each fell to DCE, the Thunderbirds by 8, and the Gauchos by 11.

Thunderbird Keys to the Game:

  • Knock down quality shots: MCC's FG% of 42.2% from the floor ranks 9th in the conference. MCC must get quality looks from the court in order to help their cause of improving their percentage, score more points, and take home a win.

  • Lual Lual: The sophomore forward is having a great start to the year, averaging 10 rebounds/game (2nd best in conference) while leading his team in scoring with 17.6 points per contest. Averaging a double double, Lual has become a leader on the team and must continue his impressive season for MCC to have their best chance to win.
