Men's basketball falls in nail-biter to Yavapai Wednesday night.

The men's basketball team fell to Yavapai College Wednesday night 78-82. With the loss the men's record falls to 6-9 overall and 2-6 in conference play.

Mesa led most of the contest but a late push by the Roughriders propelled them to victory over the T-Birds. 

Timmy Johnson and Orlando Gonzales led the way for MCC as they each had 17 points in the contest, Gonzales hit four three-pointers in the loss.

Yavapai were led by Evan Joyner and Josh Favors who had 21 in the game, Favors went 6-8 from three-point land.

The team will travel to Phoenix College on Saturday to take on the Bears, tip-off will be at 2:00 p.m.
