Men's basketball started their season on the right foot Wednesday night as they took down Bella Vista 94-64.
In the first half the Thunderbirds were able to fight off multiple Bear runs to remain in control of the game. Mesa was able to get pressure in the backcourt to create turnovers which they turned into points regularly.
The Thunderbirds went into the second half with a 12 point lead and kept the foot on the gas after halftime.
The Thunderbirds were led in scoring by Justin Chambers with 16 followed by Malak Malak who had 13. It was an all around effort for the T-Birds scoring tonight, as every player who checked into the game scored except for one.
The Thunderbirds will be back in action Saturday at home against Taylormade Prep, tipoff is at 2 pm.
